Meet Donald

My name is Donald. I’m 26 and have lived in the same home in Stanton my entire life. My parents are both labor organizers, and I grew up on picket lines and at negotiating tables. Watching workers stand together, even during a lunch break, taught me that change happens when people unite. That belief guides my decisions on the City Council.

Serving Stanton as your Councilmember has been the privilege of my life. At Western High School, I support at-risk students facing depression and trauma, helping them stay in school and graduate.

I’ve spent my life serving the community that raised me, and I’ve proven I’ll show up when Stanton needs me. On the Council, I cast the deciding vote to place mayoral term limits before the voters, to make livestreamed meetings permanent, and pushed to increase Sheriff’s deputy staffing.

When immigrant neighbors faced uncertainty, I helped create a city immigration resource webpage. I’ve aided in the Stanton resident’s immigration process by attending court hearings and ICE check-ins. I coordinated with local, state and federal leaders to advocate for the release of a Stanton resident, with no criminal record, from an immigration detention center. After a month and a half of being in detention, this Stanton resident came back home to his family.

During the chemical spill evacuation, I went door-to-door helping neighbors get to safety, and coordinated with residents to get safely to evacuation centers. I’ll continue to advocate for accountability publicly and on the city council.

Stanton is my home and it’s future is my priority.
